By using laminated tempered glass a frameless glass door leaf can be used with most of our patch fittings. If the glass is broken it will hold together unlike a simple tempered glass leaf.
By using heat strengthened glass with a pvb laminate a real solution for overhead glass can be obtained. With through bolt fixings at a maximum of 1.3m spacing the glass can catastrophically fail but will remain in place with virtually no glass fall until it is demounted to be replaced. There is no need for tempered outer lights, laminated catcher layer and netting as is currently being used in some shopping malls.
By using tempered layers with a pvb interlayer, frameless glass stair treads can be used. Currently there must be a sacrificial layer and therefore monolithic treads are not permitted. Using a triple layer the bottom layer can have holes or sochets set in so the treads can be bolted to a structure. Alternatively 2 ply treads ca be UV bonded to a structure.
By using tempered laminated with unequal plys so that they can be tenon jointed together with resin on site to create portal frames.
